A study to splint or nonsplint the restoration of adjacent implants

In this systematic review and meta-analysis study, the basis was to evaluate the marginal bone loss. A total of 4,215 implants (2,768 splinted; 1,447 non-splinted) were placed with a follow-up in 87.8 months. The research showed no significant differences between splinting or nonsplinting for marginal bone loss. Of the 24 splinted (99.1% survival rate) and of the 51 that were nonsplinted (95.5% survival rate), there was a much higher survival rate for splinted restorations than there was for nonsplinted.
